My last word on Pat Robertson for now

It's not my word, it's from the Washington Post today. Check it out. It isn't the first time the comparison between religious extremists of any stripe has been made. I've done it myself on this blog. The Post probably does it better.

So the fundamentalist Christian and the fundamentalist Muslim agree. Interesting. I wonder if the Muslim reads his Koran. It's obvious to me that the Christian preacher doesn't read his Bible--not the one I read that says that vengeance is the Lord's and warns us not to gloat over our enemies' defeat.

I am not familiar with The Post but "Mr. Ahmadinejad, the president of a country with a lamentable human rights record and a nuclear program, is dangerous, where Mr. Robertson is only pathetic." Good analysis on Robertson.

Saddam was dangerous and was alledged to have weapons of mass destrucion as well. Is this the new propaganda that preludes the sequel in Iran?

Welcome to our blog, Virginia. If you have visited us before, I beg your pardon for missing your comment. Please do continue to visit us.
I have lived in a Muslim country and have many Muslim friends, both abroad and in the U.S. Some are foreign nationals, some are U.S. citizens. They are no different from us, hard working, decent people and as outraged as we are about the terroristic activities of others supposedly of their faith. When living in a Muslim country, I found that many are just like some of our Christians - they did not study the Koran themselves but listened to the teachings of the Imams. Like too many of our Christians do not study the Bible but follow blindly after "shepherds of the flocks" like Robertson.

Welcome to you, too, Dimitri. I fear greatly that your question is answered by a terrible truth. Are people like me, Granny, and other concerned bloggers Chicken Littles hysterically crying the "sky is falling", or are we Paul Reveres, desperately calling out, "The British are coming! To arms! To arms!" Yet in this instance the approaching enemy is our own government. Remember Pogo? "we have met the enemy and he is us".
Or all of us like ill fated Cassandras, wailing fearful prophecies to deaf ears.
