One positive thought

In spite of everything, Rochelle in no way resembles the little girl who could barely read two years ago. Dedicated teachers and an administrator willing to listen can overcome many obstacles.

Teachers always get the blame for under achieving students and sometimes we do have bad teachers, but there are many dedicated teachers and school administrators who are truly interested, care and try to educate our young. These good ones do not get nearly enough credit nor PAY for what they do under terrible conditions.
One of my great grandsons had a visual disorder that caused reading disability, which in turn handicapped his learning. With vigorous programs he came up to grade level in just 3 years...and a tremendous amount of homework and practise guidance by his mother. Take some credit, too, Granny. Parental involvement is essential to educational success for our children.

Worried and Granny, every time I read your blog, I read something similar to a post I've made recently or in the past. We have so many concerns in common, so it does me good to come here and see that other people have similar thoughts and feelings. I recently wrote about how I, too, have found that "parental involvement is essential to educational success."

Some teachers are good and some aren't. Just like some doctors, som lawyers, some cops, some bank tellers, some clerks are good and others...not so much! If you want to lay blame, there should be plenty to go around. However, it is nice to see someone giving a teacher credit, too!! Take your share of the credit, too, Granny!
