NOW GRANNY'S MADE ME MADDER THAN I WAS ALREADY

I don't know whether or not this post will be coherent - I got about 2 hours sleep, the phone keeps ringing , people at the door, as the network of my huge, closely knit, extended family and friends begin circling the wagons as they always do when one of their own is in trouble.

I haven't touched the papers nor TV but I had to scan the blog - and Granny's post about Cindy Sheehan set off a major incident of Italian temperament. I even used a little of GOM's salt.

WHAT IN THE HELL ARE OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS DYING FOR? WHY ARE MULTIPLE THOUSANDS COMING HOME MAIMED, MUTILATED, SOME IN A VEGETATIVE STATE ...AND MANY WHO WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER BE ABLE TO HAVE A NORMAL LIFE.

WHY? SO THAT WAR MONGERING, GREEDY, OIL HUNGRY, MEGACORP KISSING, FASCIST, MEGALOMANIC IN THE WHITE HOUSE CAN ROB THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OF ALL THEIR RIGHTS?
OR WHY?

I'm a staunch supporter of our troops and our veterans and have been working on a blog about those in Iraq. I'm not finished but I think I'll start posting it anyway, even if it is still a hodge-podge. For starters, read the previous post, "Struggling Back From War's Deadly Wounds." It is the story of only ONE of America's sons damaged forever in Bush's war. Please read it, please.

We MUST face up to the reality of this war, what it costing on the human level. Read about that damaged young man. Then, you want to see what Sheehan is about? Not just in sterile dry numbers, in the faces of the men that she protests about. Too bad she can't put these faces on her tee shirt. The numbers are PEOPLE.
