Politically Correct
Once again from Zay Smith (I can never remember his middle initial when I get over here. I know he has one). Zay G. Smith? of the Chicago Sun-Times.
We were talking a few posts ago about political correctness. Zay posts an item every few days showing how a good thing can be taken to extremes. They have probably also forbidden snowball fights out of concern for the students' safety. No kidding; some schools have.
What about snowwomen?
The Case for Zero Tolerance of Modern School Administrators (cont'd):
Ripon College has instructed students that snowmen must "reflect the academic mission of the college."

Just thought you might be interested...my kids' schools absolutely forbid snow ball fights. I heard the older boy explain the younger that he could roll the snow on the ground to build things, but that he should never, ever be seen with a ball of snow in his hand.
Of course that is an elementary school and you are talking about college...

I think rocks sometimes find their way into snowballs so that may be part of it and part is worry about injury and school responsibility.
I don't know how I survived childhood. Of course where I live now, there is no snow.
Yes, I was talking about college.

I blogged about PC, thanks to you, Gran.
For the record, I'm opposed to throwing things at people, snowballs or whatever. It's just a bad idea.
