Death of Gary Webb; An American Tragedy
Two years ago, journalist Gary Webb -- his career and his life in ruins
-- killed himself. Though a terrible personal tragedy, Webb's suicide
also marked the last page of a dark chapter in American journalism, the
end result of his punishment at the hands of colleagues for helping
expose the Reagan administration's contra-cocaine scandal.
The major U.S. news media revealed itself more as an accomplice to
government crimes than a watchdog for the people -- a precursor to the
failure to challenge George W. Bush's false case for invading Iraq.

Don't believe our government could be so sleazy and immoral? Do a search on the "El Salvador Option". A tried and true method used by the US in third world countries. Does it sound familiar? Kind of like how the violence and feuding got started in Iraq between the Sunnis and Shiites? Who bombed the mosque in Samarra that stirred up so much rage? Why did a British "security guard" (read that "mercenary") get caught with explosives in his car, and why was it hushed up? Why would a security guard need explosives?
Maybe not, maybe so, but it follows a pattern of the El Salvadore option.
