Burning Issues - More

I had a few minutes this morning while waiting to take my daughter for her chemo session so I leafed back through a few of the Reverend Mr. Baldwin's articles.

He dislikes Bush, he obviously makes some good points in his article. However, clicking on the title will take you to another of his articles. Once I found this one, I didn't investigate further but I'm pretty sure he wasn't just having a bad day. He isn't Fred Phelps but he sure isn't a candidate for Sojourners either.

His rant is all too typical of the zealots of the religious right. Shame - I had some hope.

I always wonder when people start talking about the good old days (you know, when you could order your firearms from the Sears catalog) that they may be victims of faulty memory.

You mean they won't let you order your firearms from Sears? How did that slip by the NRA

I think what is interesting about the debate between the "good ol' days" and the present tense is that many proponents of reintroducing morals and values into American society are political and social conservatives. That is not to suggest that conservatives are the only ones concerned about the state of our country; however, it does seem that conservatives are primarily concerned with making things the way they were back in the "good ol' days" by forcing it on people. It has to be a choice. But times are changing, and the way that we look at our American society, the way that we behave within our American society, must change as a result.

That was a little rambly, sorry!
