WORRIED; FAMILY UPDATE
Mother has been sent home from the hospital with a complement of nurses and therapists. She must be assisted in all things due to extreme weakness as well as the massive dosages of coumadin to dissolve the blood clots. Any small injury or bump can result in bleeding. One of the lower lobes of her lungs is dead, making respiration even more difficult for her.
One of the nurses warned the family that she was terminal, which we knew, and told my sisters to keep the do-not-resuscitate paper at hand and the medical power of attorney, as the paramedics would need that when they were called at the final time. Now it is just a waiting time for one very strong minded, tough little old lady. The Family waits.
