Didn't we have an election last year? Didn't we take back both the House and Senate?

Why did we bother?

"Bowing to President Bush, the Democratic-controlled House reluctantly approved fresh billions for the Iraq war today, minus the troop withdrawal timeline that drew his earlier veto.

The 280-142 vote sent the bill to the Senate for final passage, expected later Thursday night."

The Senate just approved it - the tally doesn't matter. Shame on them all.
