I found the source of the problem to our sidebar and it was all my fault, the ONE problem that Blogger didn't cause. In my housekeeping frenzy that night, tired and rumdum and possessing about as much common sense as a gnat, I swept clean all the photos that I didn't need to keep stored in Photobucket. Did Blogger or Google tell me what the problem was? Heck no! I figured it out myself: pictures downloaded from Photobucket and placed in sidebars and headers, etc. are published with html; html tags have to link to something; the links in photobucket had been deleted so there was nothing to link to. Ergo, no photos, just text link to the server.

After I fixed it , I read Photobuckets Tutorials and FAQs and the problem was explained there. Imagine that! Read instructions and you may learn something!! Now, since this was such an exceedingly difficult problem, a problem of such magnitude that even a computer know-nothing such as I figured it out, I understand why Blogger and Google were stumped. Not only stumped but ever so considerate, courteous, and helpful when I turned to them for help. Boring to read about, boring to experience it, and also frustrating and aggravating.

[This is a copy- and- paste record of the answersI received during my search for Blogger and Google help, and therefore a true record of the wonderful assistance they offered: Repetitions of stock replies on each "help" site. This does not include all of the Blogger help pages, known issues,etc. I tried, nor the Blogger Support Group. The latter you may not post questions to the page unless you are ---you guessed it ---a member of the new and improved and wonderful NEW BLOGGER!!!! But Blogger does condescend to allow us poor relatives to comb the pages for scraps of information. NOT FOR ANSWERS mind you, you have to be a member of the new and improved.... to access the "reply" button. But you are free to read the pages of questions and complaints and see what problems our fellow bloggers are having with the new, improved, great and glorious Blogger. Go read a few and it will scare you to think they are going to force us stragglers to join. Kicking and Screaming.

This is Day 5 of the Google Alert with no alerts. Seems that the experts are having a tad of trouble posting a site for an answer.
