Knowledge is Power. Be informed
Ever since I started blogging I attracted a small "fan club" of emailing lurkers who feel it is their duty to critique my posts, point out the error of my ways, and in general usually find fault with me. One by one they wander off then return; presumably their absences mean they are off giving other bloggers the benefit of their superior wisdom. I don't mind. I'd rather they email me than fill up our comment boxes with their tirades or flip remarks, or hurt Granny's feelings with their occasional hatefulness.
Some recent critical questions and pearls of wisdom offered are:
1).You jump around like a grasshopper from one thing to another. Why do you post on so many different subjects? Why can't you be consistent in confronting issues?
2). Why do you post over and over on the same tiresome subject? Can't you inject a little variety? People get tired of you harping on the same thing all the time.
3). Why do you just post links instead of submitting your own opinions? Why do you have to offer your own half-baked opinions; post the articles, period.
4). Give a synopsis of the article when you post an url so we'll know if it's worth reading or not.
5) Don't post such long articles. No one has time to read so much. Break them down into short paragraphs.
6). Everybody has seen all that news already so why do you post it?
7). Why do you think anybody needs to know all that crap anyway?
8). Don't post so much. One or two posts is enough.
I have corrected spelling and wording in some cases and edited the less polite remarks.
I have said it before but will iterate it: Mainstream media is unreliable and is usually biased in favor of the government propaganda. Many if not most of our readers are working, family folks. Their off-time is limited and their plates are full; they don't have time to search out alternate news sources or research for more information. Granny and I do have more time, although Granny's plate is pretty full too.
Some articles are long in order to convey considerable information. Acquiring information is the key to knowledge. Knowledge is essential to making informed decisions. Informed decisions are necessary to take proper actions.
Thank you for your advice.

Okay, I'll throw my advice in, too: I say you should post as much as you want, about any subject you want, as often as you want, with as much brevity or verbosity as you want, using as many links as you want, giving your opinion whenever you want, or not. Also, feel free to tell commenters to [expletive + verb] whenever you see fit 8^)
There, that should cover most situations...

I just wrote my own post. Didn't want to hide in the comment box this time.

I agree with sheanc. It's your blog. You guys can do what you want with it. If people don't like it, they can read elsewhere. Criticizing the number and length and typos in posts is absurd. No one is forced to be here.

I want to make it very plain that this blogger never finds any of your posts boring, none are "too long", your topic selection is excellent. I suspect you have some less than educated commentors. They are the ones that have trouble with long posts, they have the trouble concentrating on articles linked to. Send them over to me. I will say for you , what you are too nice to say!:) KEEP GOING!!!
