Did I Say They Were Getting Desperate?
If we are anti-war, we are treasonous. If we are anti-Bush policies, we are with the terrorists. Now this, from a woman who is certainly intelligent and well educated enough to have better sense, but who sells her honor and integrity for wealth and power. So, what else is new?

Condi: Anti-war = Pro-slavery

Secretary of stupid...
Secretary of State Condi Rice equated advocates for ending the Iraq War with those who would have allowed slavery to continue in an interview with Essence Mag:
I'm sure there are people who thought it was a mistake to fight the Civil War to its end and to insist that the emancipation of slaves would hold...
Steve Benen hits it right on the head: "to suggest, out loud, on the record, that critics of the war in Iraq are similar to those who would approve of slavery is perhaps the most breathtakingly stupid remark ever uttered by a Bush administration official. And given the competition, that's no easy feat."
The GOP campaign to up the black vote has failed woefully so they've apparently decided that it's time to open a can of whoopass on moderation. So be it. But anybody who believes this is gonna work has got another thing coming. And for those who don't see this as a crass redirection of Katrina outrage I've got this bridge to sell you... (Carpetbagger)

Jeez this woman needs to have someone at the NAACP smack her down, rhetorically that is.
Steve Benen is right, "breathtakingly stupid".

i would encourage condi- and any other repub to read some blogs by women of color- i link to a few on my site- to see exactly why they won't be getting any votes. the reasons? these folks want some living wages, decent schools for their kids, equality in the workplace and the respect that any white repubs have. condi would do better asking the folks in question rather than to tow the party racist rhetoric.

Granny.....I spotted this on another blog just moments ago. You had the story first! Condi is offensive. Anyone who says that those against fighting a war and killing are treasonous and such, and throws comparisons that demean and are totally untrue is a jackass.
No-one knows what's in my mind. When people think for themselves and not listen to jibberish spewed forth telling them what it means when another acts, then the wars and hatred will begin to end.
Condi doesn't speak for me.
