Worried Continues the War against Rumsfield.

YouTube™ – Broadcast Yourself

I want to share the following video with you:

Video Description: 7 minutes.

Dean talks about how the administation's latst criticism of war critics, is further evidence of their authoritarian traits.

Personal Message from Worrfied American:

John Dean on Countdown; demonstrates what I commented on earlier - he and Bush thinks we're all stupid. I would say a large number of the public are ignorant, not stupid.

About 20 of my fellow residents here at the Warehouse of Old People Waiting to Die were in the Community Room, watching TV, playing pool, gossiping and kicking back. I disturbed their tranquil afternoon by asking them if they knew what fascism was. Now, these are mostly people of MY generation, who lived through WWII, the Hitler years. Some of them served in WWII in the military. One lady was that era's version of a Donut Dolly and also served in the USO as well as being a Rosie the Riveter.

I won't bore you with their tentative answers, but only one had a vague idea of what fascism is. I have in the past asked my children and their peers (some are grandparents so aren't teeny boppers) and they were equally ignorant. This is not by any means a comprehensive poll but it is revealing and explains why the public swallows the buzz words - they don't understand.

In PT's previous blog, hopefully not abandoned, http://the-anti-fascist.blogspot.com, he has written a series of essays on Fascism. On the very first page, Review Part 1, he quotes Benito Mussolini, "Fascism is the marriage of corporate power and the state." If you don't read anything else, remember that one descriptive definition. Does that describe Islam? Or the United States of America? The USA is the government where corporate power is wedded to the state; we are the nation that practises the Golden Rule - them that has the gold, rules. WE are the new fascists!!

the biggest problem in america today is denial. stupidity yes, but denial is worse. people don't want to look and see the truth- that we have become the very thing we have always fought against. we have murdered and lied and tortured- and our civil liberties are being taken away. no one wants to believe that america has fallen- but it has. we can reclaim america- but will we? much easier to believe in god- no personal responsibility there- he will take care of everything if it is his will. he will take care of those evil heathen hordes of arabs and mexican illegals. easier to believe in the government to take care of everything- that way we can still go to our vacation condo for the summer and pack up the suv for a shopping excursion- while the world burns because of our narcissistic greed. i'll bet you dollars to donuts that most folks don't know what narcissistic means either but the should study that old greek mythology and its roman counterpart because like those great empires before us- we are falling.

I just happened to post on the same subject just now. How terrible it is that we have reason to write about such things!
