U.S. Panel Endorses Routine Cervical Cancer Vaccine for Girls - Cancer - MSN Health & Fitness

Granny recently posted on this vaccine, and the objections of the Religious Right claiming that removing the fear of cancer would encourage teen sexual activity. I do not think most teens even know about the virus and fear of contacting cancer would not be a deterrent to pre-marital sex. Pregnancy and STDs are very well known consequences of illicit sex and yet the knowledge of these possibilities has not eradicated teen sex.

This is a great break through for women.

Would you have your young daughter vaccinated?

    Hi yellowdog.

Of course. I don't think it's a problem with Elcie but for the younger girls I plan on it. The price will drop shortly and it will be probably available through the state medical program.

I'm hearing 73% approve of the vaccine. I wonder why the other 27% would rather have their children dead.

The christian right siders would have to have the opposition you mention, that is, removing the cancer risk would encourage teen sex.

Don't they also profess that you believe in their christ or you will suffer the consequences?

I thought he was a benevolent and loving God? They confuse me. Let's stop all abortion, but lets kill thousands in war.

    Go figure??!!

By the way, I am the Father of three daughters and four Grand daughters.

This clearly illustrates the dangers of ignorance.
