The Honorable Ron Paul; to House of Representatives; on war with Iraq and Iran

Text of speech follows video. Ron Paul denounces present war policy of intervention. Exposes lies by Bushco and them using the same old tactics about Iran to scare the American people as they did in drumming support for war with Iraq. He decries the plan to send more of American's sons and daughters to die, and points out that none of the neocons children serve in combat. Watch and listen to him, or read the text.

Congressman Ron Paul is one of the very few politicians in whom I have a bit of trust. Years ago during the usual mud slinging preceding elections, his opponent publicized a huge "scandal" sneering at Ron Paul's "stupidity" because his Campaign Office had erroneously sent copies of a letter for Paul's constituents to the opposition and to a member of the press. I decided right then that if that was all the dirt they could dig up on Paul, he must be a pretty clean man. Because you know that in politics, opponents dig deep and hard to find the slightest scrap of scandal to exaggerate and exploit to their own ends.

This is a long speech presented to the House of Representatives, therefore the printed text of the speech that follows is rather long, also. However, it is a very interesting and informative speech. I recommend it.

I've been following Ron Paul for a couple months now, he's a rare breed: an honest politician. For a Republican he's unique, he doesn't get his news from Fox. If more politicians, on the right and left were as straightforward, our county would be in better shape.

Right on! Lew. We elect these people to represent the PEOPLE, yet most, once they are in office, represent only special interest groups and which ones can best promote their own grab for power and wealth.

They do not give a damn for the people or the future of this nation. The only time they pander to the people is around election time, then they spout slick rhetoric to deceive the people, then it is back to business as usual.

Time after time over the years various parties have attempted to get rid of Paul, even to re-districting in order to reduce his voter base. Usually when the others attempt to unseat a politician, it is because he has failed to "play ball". In following Paul's career over the years, it appears he has consistently stood up for the people and refused to play ball with the corrupt members of Washington.

He was against this obscenity of a war and I used part of his speech about it as the header to my other blog "This Is War" (this-is-war.blogspot.com). He is about the only one in Washington that publically states the TRUE motive behind all this war business.

Feingold may be another one true to the People; I'm watching that young man.

And I'm here to back up WA. I was around when she started the other two blogs and let everyone know she had done so.

Bloggers "borrow" from each other all the time - it's a good way to spread the word. But we do so with credit to the original blogger or to the originator.

We never claim something as our own which isn't and I can't imagine taking credit for the hard work of another.
