Old vs New Democrats
I'm beginning to wonder what I'm doing in the party.
This article, which will probably make good sense to the economists out there, explains the differences in economic philosophy between "old" (me, I guess) and "new" (my Congressman) Democrats.
It would explain some of his votes on financial issues.
It doesn't explain why, with a few exceptions, we all roll over (or bend over) when we will never have a better opportunity to take a stand. What is the matter with us? Even Barbara Boxer caved on the Patriot Act. We would have lost regardless but we would have made a statement. The "reforms" are cosmetic only.
What power grab will be next? Is anybody paying attention?
