We don't need any help from the Republicans

We're doing nicely all by ourselves.

Once again, the Democratic leadership has pushed a contender out of a Senate seat to cater to the religious right.

Paul Hackett of Ohio came very close in his last election. It made nationwide news. He was set to enter the Ohio primary elections when he was nudged out by the top "leadership" of the party. He's not conservative enough.

We are never going to win the extreme right. Nevertheless, we insist on rolling over and playing dead. If we keep this up, we are dead. We need to stand for something, not be a carbon copy of the other party. Why should anyone change their vote when we have nothing different to offer?

I'd rather go down swinging, thanks.

It is beyond frustrating, isn't it?

Yes it is. On the other hand when I had time to read further, the other democrat doesn't sound bad. I just dislike the idea of a national committee putting pressure on a state. It happened in PA too I think.

Yes, let's see some Dems with spine tell it like it is. Better to go down in flames with the line between right and wrong becoming more clear...than to play games just on the hope of fighting over some muddy middle ground.

    Down with the Demolican party!

I used to call these "Republicrats", but then I realized that no matter how you slice it most Democrats are to the left of your average Republican, even if only by a tiny-weenie bit.

    So..."Demo-licans:

Unfortunately, this is all too true. We basically have two factions of ONE party instead of two separate parties. I think the Democrats are usually a better choice, but, as Gary says, I think they need to have some spine. Joe Lieberman, especially, seems to illustrate this point. Wish it was like Europe or Canada where you have a lot of party choices
