Buying Toys for Christmas Gifts? BEWARE !

Check out this danger to our children! Parents, grand parents, aunties and uncles, etc.. who want to give a nice toy to the beloved youngster in the family. Or to the boss' family.
The child then becomes ill from a chemical in the toy that acts like "Roofies", the date-rape drug! Our children being poisoned by a date-rape drug?

You are not going to frickin' believe this one. From the Wall Street Journal:
HONG KONG—Retailers around the world scrambled to pull a popular toy called Bindeez off the shelves Wednesday after a chemical in some shipments of the Chinese-made product was found to mimic the effects of the so-called date rape drug.

At least three children have been hospitalized in Australia in recent weeks after swallowing beads from the toy.

In the U.S., a similar toy that is sold under the name Aqua Dots had been available at Toys "R" Us stores since May, according to a spokeswoman. When the company learned of problems with the Bindeez brand, it pulled Aqua Dots from its North American shelves. Aqua Dots is also sold at retailers including Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Target Corp., and as of Wednesday morning it was still available in Wal-Mart, Target and eToys online stores, though it isn't clear whether that version poses any danger.

Wednesday afternoon, Spin Master Ltd., the North American distributor of Aqua Dots, issued a statement saying it is requesting that retailers remove the toy and stop selling it. The company added that "out of an abundance of caution" it has stopped shipping the item and is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.

The manufacturer, Moose Enterprises, of Melbourne, Australia, Wednesday said the problem had been traced to a Chinese factory it had contracted that substituted a toxic chemical with a safe type of glue during manufacturing.

Moose declined to name the manufacturer...

They "declined to name the manufacturer." Your toy industry: they've got naught but the welfare of the children in mind.

Yeah, RIGHT!! Ain't this a crock of it? If consumers knew the manufacturer, they could avoid buying anthing made by a company that is careless of the health and lives of our children. Ofcourse, if making public the name of the company that made the toys resulted in a loss of sales , well now, we surely couldn't have that could we? We must keep the profits flowing even if it endangers the lives and safety of the children.

It was bad enough that some of these el cheapo contractors poisoned our pets, but our children?

i suppose this is why the video games are so popular? people have to stop buying stuff period. most kids have more toys than they know what to do with- if we all took a break from buying for a little while- the toy companies and any company- would take notice. we poison our kids daily with the food we give them to eat. because we don't grow our own- they ship it in from all different countries- meat included. lord knows what we are eating. it's a real problem. people have to start thinking.

You said it, Betmo! As an example, before the Old Woman went overseas for several years, she had heart trouble, asthma, and her arthritis was real bad. After she was there awhile in Africa with no air pollution, eating organically grown food (no fertilizers or chemicals, grown all naturally) and very few canned stuffs, her health improved dramatically. She got frisky as a colt again, running all over the country on trips and climbing mountains like she did when she was young. Back in the States for the summers, by the end of the 3 months her health troubles were starting again. Back to Africa for a few months and the old gal was diddybopping all over the place again. When she returned to the States for good, in no time her health problems started all over again.

I'm no medico but it looks like to me that the change in environment and diet had a lot to do with it. I think some people are more sensitive to the poisons we're exposed to and probably a lot of people who don't think they've been made sick actually suffer from low grade sickness.

And the real hell of it is that we're poisoning our children with pollutants and chemicals then here come these manufacturers that deliberately put our kids at risk just to make a dollar.

Hang 'em by their thumbs! Boil 'em in oil!
