Note to Readers

The next several posts below concern mine and Granny's on-going war with Blogger.

Please scroll down and check out Granny's Independence Day post. We need the reminder of the founding of our nation. Our Constitution is violated (our president calls it a g__d___ piece of paper), our rights are being eroded more and more and we are descending into tyrannical fascism and imperialism. NOT what our founding fathers envisioned for the United States of America.

Also, please check out the two posts on the Christian "Taliban" and anti-Theocracy. Bloggers who tried to join the Blogswarm but couldn't get through, please try again. The site is inundated with emails and Blogger decided in its infinite wisdom that the emails were Spam and blocked them. Please try again until you get through. Join others and post your links for anti-Theocracy and pro-Separation of Church and State.

Thanks for the posts. I am working on my thoughts on hate crimes legislation. We are mostly on the same page. This is truly sad.

Hi Ladies,

Hope you all have a happy 4th, and that all is well with you and yours.

I haven't visited much lately, as I'm trying to get more involved with the International Solidarity Movement. I firmly believe that change for the better for all of us, everywhere, but particularly those in the Middle East and the U.S., begins in Palestine.

Peace,
Fiona

When we break the connection between war, profit and power then peace will stand a chance.

The connection will never be broken by words alone!

Cheers!

Thank you for your comments. You are correct in one sense, Daniel, but remember that the "pen is mightier than the sword".

There are some bloggers who have not the means to become involved in outside activism, but blogging, supporting each other, spreading the word, joining others in petitions to Congress are a form of activism. Petitions to government DO help; as an example, some blogger petitions en masse have had positive results.

The Fundies know this, that is why they exhort millions of their followers to inundate government with emails and petitions. Bush and Cheney do not care a fig about what the public thinks, but Congressmen and Senators retain a certain sensitivity to VOTERS; most desperately desire to keep their powerful and prestigious positions.

Even "passive" activists like me not only blog, post articles our busier fellows might miss, email specific articles to friends and family, sign petitions, email representatives, purchase and label and distribute the little green anti-war Kommandos, print flyers and distribute - dashing about the community in my electric scooter. Now that I temporarily have the use of daughter Jo's van, my range is extended and I can hit the malls bearing little Kommandos and flyers.I have been subjected to hostile and disrespectful reactions but am pleased that most responses have been positive.

Granny not only blogs on several sites, she does her weekend street corner vigils, belongs to several activist organizations, emails and writes letters to local and federal government entities in addition to her very busy and stressful life with rearing three children, caring for a sick husband and running a household. And if that does not equate to "holding down a job", I challenge anyone to define it differently.

A number of our readers who once visited us regularly now seldom comment BUT most have become very busy in outside activism and no longer have time to surf blogs frequently. (Like fjb above, Marty On the Homefront, Spadoman and a number of others).

Although Granny and I miss their visits, we APPLAUD THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN ACTIVISM!! WAY TO GO, FRIENDS! Keep up the good work and arouse the people to take back our country, to raise their voices against the wrongs in this world.

BLOGGERS, UNITE!!
