Can you imagine a contingent of religious zealots, with their contempt for secular values (and such manifestations of secular order as the U.S. Constitution) - and with their zest for holy war - in control of the most potent fighting force and weaponry in human history? Is this possible?

Jesusistan is rapidly encroaching. It is up to people of faith, more than anyone, to turn it back.

The faithful who actually know scripture had best start speaking up. Loudly.

WA and I can cherry pick biblical text with the best of them and I sometimes do.

I can't speak for WA but I believe it's possible to follow the teachings of Christ and still abhor everything the fundies stand for.

They have their own agenda. It has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with domination.

The sooner we "mainstream" Christians wake up and realize that, the more we can accomplish.

To do that, however, we must stop fighting over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin and work together.

Otherwise, eventually they'll come after us as well; possibly even before they come after the "non-believers".

i would love it if mainstream christians, muslims, jews and the like- got their heads out of their asses and realized what was going on. no offense granny- you are one lady who doesn't have her head up her ass :) i personally don't feel that there is a place for religion in the 21st century- period. but there are still millions of folks around the world and in this country who believe. as long as they haven't tried to do the whole takeover thing- i have been fine to live and let live. one can't deny the mercenary groups, our own military, the fact that regent university and rush limbaugh's journalism school are pumping out cadets as fast as we can pop out babies. it is more than a minor irritation now- it is a real problem. as i have said before- if you are still asleep- you may as well be asleep forever cause you are never going to wake up.
