Sage Advice for This Generation

"Individuals have international duties which transcend the national obligations of obedience…therefore [individual citizens] have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent crimes against peace and humanity from occurring." :
Nuremberg War Crime Tribunal, 1950
[WA: Especially when a corrupt government passes corrupt laws in order to achieve or maintain greater power and subjugate the citizens]

="Some explanations of a crime are not explanations: they’re part of the crime.":
Olavo de Cavarlho

"It would be some time before I fully realized that the United States sees little need for diplomacy. Power is enough. Only the weak rely on diplomacy ... The Roman Empire had no need for diplomacy. Nor does the United States." :
Boutros Boutros-Ghali

="And so long as they were at war, their power was preserved, but when they had attained empire they fell, for of the arts of peace they knew nothing, and had never engaged in any employment higher than war."
Aristotle, Politics [Re: the Roman Empire]

WA:Bush and the Neocons have aspirations for the United States to be the New Roman Empire. Pax Americana. They have forgotten history, and fools who forget history are doomed to repeat it. We have become the most powerful nation on earth, like the Roman Empire in its day. We control many of the nations of the world today, not by conquest as did the Roman Empire but no less surely as they bear our yoke and feel our boot against their necks.

Even now, we feel doom looming over our heads as Bush and cohorts "stay the course" and continue their efforts for power.
