Rita-hit Texas town has nothing left to lose
___________________________________________
Sabine Pass represents dozens of other small Gulf Coast towns and hamlets basically left out of the loop for Federal Aid post- Katrina/Rita destruction. They feel abandoned by the government -- and they are. There is no help for the working poor and the elderly who could not afford home insurance and are left with no resources to rebuild. Now the ones who did get FEMA trailers as temporary housing are faced with losing them, as "tick-tock, time's up" from FEMA. What will they do? Where will they go? How will they survive? Who gives a damn? Not BushCo; they have wars to waste money on and can't be bothered by citizens' needs.
After all, according to Bush, God blesses the good and does not bless the bad. Therefore, the good are blessed with riches, and the bad are not blessed, so are poor. Ergo, the poor are poor because of their own bad character and it is up to them to take care of themselves. The YOYO policy : You're On Your Own.
God Bless America.
