Blogger is being attacked by an automated splog ("spam-blog") creator that has figured out a way around it's verification system.

Blogger's servers are regularly overwhelmed. It's quite annoying and has tempted me on repeated occasions to move to another service; if I was more serious about blogging I would.

AAAAAGGGGHHHH!!! NOW YAHOO HAS GONE INSANE. I checked one email site and started replies. On first one, when I clicked "send" I got a yahoo page that said "page you requested cannot be found" and that's all I got over and over, even trying to save the email as a draft. I escaped the compose page only by Xing out. Now Yahoo won't let me back in to ANY email. Just that infernal page "page you requested cannot be found". GRRRRR!!!

    Oh crud! This is Worried.

I know of one or two bloggers who switched from Blogger to one of the other blog dookies, like WordPress, but I'm just too sentimental. I'd miss the "next blog" button!

Wed. A.M. Yahoo let me in to my primary email site this morning. I haven't checked the others yet; wanted to get posting done quickly before maybe crashing again.

Keeping fingers crossed about yahoo, blogger, ISP, browsers and the internet in general.

Zounds!! If these slowdowns, inability to access sites, etc. are what we can expect if the internet conquerors get their way...god help us!! Will our ISPs pay the price? Or will those of us who can only afford the el cheapo ISPs get left with dregs?

But ofcourse Bush and Big Money doesn't give a damn about the poor. Am I rabid about our fearless leader and the Megacorps? You bet your sweet bippy I am, and the more I learn about their dirty deals, the more foaming at the mouth rabid I get. It enrages and terrifies me what they are doing to our nation. And us.

There are netwars going on right now, mostly having to do with spammers in Russia. They're taking out whole backbone routers to close off their enemies. Typepad and Livejournal were down.

I think the Blogger issues have had to do with Google's database capacity being taken up by spam, like someone above said.

The net neutrality battle hasn't started yet. But Google's getting ready to roll out huge pipes to endrun that crap, so it's not time to worry just yet.

Thank you all for the advice and input. Good heavens! I didn't even know that some of that stuff existed!! I was warned and read up on all the nasties like worms and viruses, etc. that endanger our computers, and I have been bedeviled by spam and learned the hard way about phishers but I am bewildered by this other stuff.

I hope you are right, redangel, that it isn't time to worry yet.
All this mess at once had me in a swivet.

Yahoo mail is back to normal today but I'm now wary and don't trust it. Blogger is acting kind of ok but still won't properly upload my art photos. I haven't surfed the 'net so don't know how that's faring. I am glad to see seaNC is back online and no longer just a green screen.

I worry that they are NOT russians.... or spammers....... expeically when I see them hitting political blogs of any kind. I worry...... I know I seem parnoid to some...... but......... ah well......... but the time I know for sure about "but" it would obviously be too late.
