How Did He Get Through Harvard?

I thought he was Yale but never mind, it's not important. Googled - Bachelor's Degree from Yale, Master's from Harvard. They both boggle the mind. The Ivies are not what they once were.

William Fisher, writing in Truthout, lists 10 attributes of a successful CEO and then adds one more of his own.

He goes on with concrete examples of failures in each case of our country's CEO and ends with a searing indictment.

A little long but worth reading.

Ann (celebrating second dry day in a row if it lasts) Update. Hope no one has read that last sentence. I was talking about the weather, not me.

Well, I should say any college, not just Harvard and Yale.

    But forget Harvard or Yale.

Nothing that is happening in Iraq should come as a surprise if one has taken a course in the history of the Middle East at a community college. Heck, how about just an hour or two reading up on it on it on the Internet and nothing should come as a surprise.

Our fearless leaders display a remarkable ignorance of the cultures of other peoples. They are not the first, ofcourse. Which prez sent that female Ambassadot to an Arab Muslim nation and expected them to take her seriously?

Madame First Lady goes to Africa to advocate abstinence of sex as a means to control the AIDs epidemic and says that African girls and women can "just say no", and Bush gives funds to Christian groups with a large portion of the money devoted to teaching abstinence instead of disease protection measures. Sounds good on paper but fails to take into consideration the culture there of female subjugation and how few African women could get away with telling their promiscuous husbands "no", or their rapists.

Since they themselves are ignorant of other cultures, they failed to see fit to teach our troops about the culture of the people they would be dealing with in Afghanistan and Iraq, which caused many additional problems for the Americans there. When I went with my husband to foreign countries, his parent company took pains to teach the workers and the dependents about the country and the culture of the nation we would be living in. But our government did not do so.

Worried, so true...... I think that for many americans there is no "other" culture. I am serious.... you can't get it thru' their heads that there is any other way that people live. It drives me nuts. (hey no comments on the nuts thing) :)
