Here's something to do
THE LINK IN THE BODY OF THE POST DOESN'T WORK AND I DON'T HAVE TIME RIGHT NOW TO FIX IT. THE LINK BY CLICKING ON THE TITLE DOES.

While I was there I found a comment by a woman of my generation who has recently begun blogging. Here's her January 16 entry. I hope she'll visit us here.
So we approach the third anniversary of Shock and Awe and I wonder if we are capable of giving it some real consideration and just maybe, the recognition it deserves for we are all responsible because in a democracy our leaders carry out our will, right? If they do not, they are not reelected. So the story goes. How come then they are still there and still discussing what is clearly the result of many lies. Three years can be a long time to permit a war to continue that could be stopped now. A Dept. of Peace could be created in a flash IF we the people demanded it happen. Peacemakers could replace armies, if we demanded it. Sixty Minutes last evening visited North Korea bringing back the message that their leader is convinced we will attack them. Note the 'WE will attack'....we are the labeled aggressor in the World today with predictions rampant that Iran first and then North Korea, the latter guaranteeing the use of nuclear weapons in the 21st century.
In many parts of the world today women are still slaves, still property to be bought, sold and traded. In the United States, we are largely not; we are free. Free to stop, think and say: NO MORE!
On March 8 how about women everywhere simply try to make a difference. You like twelve noon? One o'clock? Whatever....... it can be a LOCAL happening. You don't have to get on a bus and go to D.C. or N.Y.C. but certainly we can be cheering for those who do and support Code Pink...see Women Say No To War and sign the Petition! Who knows; we might even feel empowered and keep the momentum going.
Comments welcome!

NO MORE!
Remember Lysistrata, the Greek play where the women decided to stop the war? I would like to see women everywhere take action on March 8. Of course, the action we might take would not be as extreme for we have been largely lulled into complacency and the effort it would require to simply stop whatever we are doing at a given time on March 8 to repeat the words "NO MORE" out loud or silently, might take every ounce of courage we can find within ourselves. What would people think of us? What are we referring to by this action? Is it possible we could be considering the civilians as well as our soldiers who are dying in Iraq or that we have let ourselves consider for a moment what it would be like to live in a country forever contaminated by depleted uranium from our "smart" bombs? To know that our children will be born with deformities and illnesses as a direct result of the modern way of waging war. The possibility that democracy will come might seem largely irrelevant, don't you think? So we approach the third anniversary of Shock and Awe and I wonder if we are capable of giving it some real consideration and just maybe, the recognition it deserves for we are all responsible because in a democracy our leaders carry out our will, right? If they do not, they are not reelected. So the story goes. How come then they are still there and still discussing what is clearly the result of many lies. enigma4ever - of course there was only I thought they zipped up their chastity belts until instead of wearing them out.
Our troll is an intelligent, reformed Democrat. He's civil and I don't agree with a word he says.
I'll leave a comment over on yours.

It took a little experimenting but it works.
When you feel up to it, it someone else hasn't helped you I will. Meantime you can copy (right click and select copy) and paste (right click and select paste) into the bar right below your title that say link.
This will cause your title to highlight or change color and clicking on the title will take people where they want to go. You can see them on isamericaburning. It's the easy way if you have only one link.
The way I just did it here involves computer code which I can send you but let's take it one step at a time.
I'm a novice too.

P. S. If you are using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer as your browser (the little arrow thingie) you may have to type Control C (for copy)and Control V for paste. Not the whole word, just the key iself and C or V.
Mozilla shows up as an orange logo with a blue center on your bottom task bar. I don't know how whoever helped you set it up but most bloggers swear by Mozilla.
