Worried is NOT Politically Correct

When I posted the articles about the border patrol officers being sentenced to prison terms for shooting a drug smuggler in the BUTTOCKS, the National Homeland Security thugs promising the rotten scoundrel immunity if he would come testify against the officers (miracle of miracles, they knew EXACTLY where to find him, and ofcourse he was innocent as a new born lamb, didn't smuggle drugs into the US, didn't shoot at the officers, didn't even have a gun, etc etc. ) and now the scum bag is suing for $5 million that if he wins the American tax payers will have to pay, I said I wouild delete the post on Wednesday. Which I did, as it pushed our sidebar to the bottom.

But if anyone thinks I have forgotten about it and gone on to greener pastures, they have another think coming. I not only signed the form to have a fax sent to Bush asking for pardons for the officers, I have loaded the emails of our reps raising billy heck about the entire sordid mess and got everyone I know that has any guts to do the same.

Politically INcorrect? My God, I HOPE SO! Of all the insulting names I have been called in my life, the very worst is to be accused of being politically correct!. I hope I am never mistaken for one of those baaaaing, bleating clones marching in lock step to the tune of what is "correct" instead of what is right. Whether I am right, wrong, good, bad or indifferent, I will stand up for what I believe in, regardless of what my "peers" think or pretend to think, unless it is proven to me without a shadow of a doubt that I am in error.

Racist? I have no intention of wasting my time or blog space trying to prove the unprovable. I state that I am not a racist and that is that. By accusing me of being racist because I call a rotten scum bag of a dope smuggler/peddler criminal exactly what he is, says to me that YOU are the racist. You assume that I call him that because he is a Mexican; do you assume that ALL dope peddlers are Mexican? To me, ALL dope dealers, smugglers, peddlers are the scum of the earth, regardless of their racial background - anglo-european, asian, hispanic, african or whatever. I absolutely detest dope pushers of any stripe.

I have spent too many years witnessing the destruction of lives due to the scourge of illicit drugs in our communities, too many young lives blighted or snuffed out, too many promising futures wasted, too much money poured into the rat hole coffers of drug dealers, too much crime associated with drug dealing, too damned much of too damned much! I have not only spent time volunteering in work with drug offenders, but my younger sister is a Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor who works in rehabs and I have heard her stories ad nauseum. I have seen her weep in pain and despair for the ruined lives of her clients, and for the untimely deaths of too many. I've heard the stories of police officer friends, and I have known neighborhood children that grew up in my community end up dead or travesties of what their lives had promised to be. All because of drugs, and the network of suppliers.

But it was only marijuana? This time a load of pot, next time a load of what?- coke? or a load of human cargo they smuggle in? Do you have any idea what happens to all too many of the humans these scum bags smuggle in? It's OK to toke a toke or snort a line of coke? The local pot dealer is an all right guy, a cool dude? Or the single mom of two teen agers down the street who supplements her income by selling a little grass? They are just minnows at the bottom of the drug food chain. Do you know about the crime as you go up the ladder?

Illicit drug sales and usage is a Worried rant and rave of the first water, right up next to the anti-war rants. Do not ask me to pity the poor drug smugglers and peddlers of any race. I have no pity for them. My pity is reserved for the victims and families of victims of these destroyers.

The newspaper writers (I refuse to call them journalists) who slant the news to pity the criminals and denigrate the officers are worthy of nothing but contempt. "Shot in the BACK" instead of shot in the BUTTOCKS , written to cast the officers in a bad light. A fleeing criminal, twisting around as he runs, pointing a weapon at the officers, can easily be shot in the fleshy part of an exposed buttock in that position, but oh, it sounds so much better to say he was shot in the back. But the buttocks are in the back of the body, so they didn't really LIE, did they?

How do I know this? I don't know about this particular case, but I do know personally about another case in which I had to testify in court. A neighbor shot his wife in the buttocks, from side to side as she twisted away from him, but it was reported that he shot her in the back. He was a rotten spouse abuser, not an officer of the law attempting to capture a fleeing criminal, but the injury was much the same.

Do I uphold bad officers who violate the public trust? No, I do not. But I do uphold officers who try to do their duty and I condemn every rotten criminal who brings poison into our country or commits other crimes then flees to safety across the border where they are protected by a corrupt system. We suffer too much of that.

    Well, there's this:

Reps. John Culberson, Kenny Marchant, McCaul and Poe - all Republicans who represent Texas - said Skinner told them during their meeting last fall that Ramos and Compean had confessed to knowingly shooting at an unarmed suspect and that they "were out to shoot Mexicans." LINK

It's pretty unusual for policemen to charged, much less convicted. Prosecutors by nature tend to favor the cops- I'm sure they were given every advantage.

The key words for your link are Republicans - regardless of which state they represent. Remember, our fearless president once represented Texas as governor. Too many of our reps still kiss up to Homeland Security no matter what wrongdoing in which they are involved and they kiss up to Mexico.
Apparently you did not check the links I posted with the article, which I will be happy to repost again, including the article wherein the jury complained afterwards that they had been misled during the trial and the two wherein Homeland Security refuses to open their so called files about the case. What is so secret that it cannot be revealed- all facts SHOULD have been presented in court- in a FAIR trial.

Also, please note that the two officers involved are MEXICAN-AMERICANS and not likely to harbor racist tendencies towards other Mexicans. It sounds more likely to me that it is a coverup by certain individuals pro-Mexico and pro-Homeland Security singing the same song as the criminal - he didn't smuggle any dope, he didn't have a gun, he was an innocent little babe in the woods. Yeah, right!!

My hunch here is that there are no good guys; not the man who was shot, not the men doing the shooting.

Prosecuting two policemen when it would have been so much easier to pin it all on the drug dealer is a very unusual step, particularly in a system that typically bends over backwards to protect policemen. I'm curious to see what's in that report the news article mentions. I guess we'll find out in a few days.
