But It's Not About The Oil!!

Big Oil Wins Iraq's Petroleum Resources
By James Ridgeway

The long discussed plan to hand over most of Iraq's oil assets to big foreign oil companies is about to happen. When people can't figure out what Bush means when he claims victory in Iraq, this is what he is talking about.

According to the Independent, the companies are looking at terrific profit potentials. "The US government has been involved in drawing up the law, a draft of which has been seen by The Independent on Sunday. It would give big oil companies such as BP, Shell and Exxon 30-year contracts to extract Iraqi crude and allow the first large-scale operation of foreign oil interests in the country since the industry was nationalized in 1972."

WA: Oil figures heavily in the global finance scheme of things. And what right does the US have to dictate laws and award contracts in a foreign, supposedly sovereign nation? They are free, aren't they? Democratic? Bush said so, so it must be true.

IRAQ'S "SOVEREIGN" GOV DOESN'T WANT TROOPS

"What right does the U.S. have to dictate..." None, but it has the world's biggest army, the most nukes, and Wall Street and U.S. Banks indirectly control most of the world's sharemarkets and financial institutions. America's move into the oil-rich Middle East will ensure it controls the main commodity that fuels capitalism. America, I believe, is poised to take complete control of the world. Greed and wealth will predominate and the little people will suffer as they always have done. It's not a world that I want to live in!

Right, Daniel. The neocons vision of the world tomorrow - The New Roman Empire - Pax Americana. Ofcourse any one-world governing body will be controlled by the global financial institutions.

Yes, Jblue; starvation, death and destruction of a people is immaterial. A nation needs our "help" only if they have desirable resources to exploit.
