Freedom of Religion?
Hi PT. Glad you're back.
From Chicago Sun-Times Quick Takes
7-6-06
News Item: Army National Guard Sgt. Patrick Stewart is killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan.
News Item: Stewart's widow requests that the symbol of his Wiccan religion be included on his plaque at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
News Item: Department of Veterans Affairs continues to block memorial plaque nine months later.
Not to put too fine a point on it. But what is the matter with us, anyway?

People put all kinds of things on plaques, such as pictures, etc. I even know someone who had the image of a car put on a relative's tombstone. Why single this particular thing out? Silly.

But Granny, there is only one true faith, and if you don't believe in Jesus as your personal savior and the ruler of the United States of America, which is a Christian nation, not a pagan nation, then you don't deserve to have your false religion recognized... [ end sarcasm ]
This is just one of the things that has happened recently that is so disturbing. The driving out of a Jewish family in Delaware, the perversion of the Statue of Liberty that was put up in Tennessee, very disturbing.
