DOJ - End Run Around Lawsuit

The Democratic Underground filed a suit against AT&T. D of J tried to block it citing "security issues". Right - of course they would. Evidently they tried to sneak around late at night when they assumed no one was paying attention.

Is this the same suit that was filed by the EFF? The DoJ is also trying to put the kabosh on that one, but interestingly, even AT&T tried to get it killed without even asking the government. The telco argued that the EFF could not use the records, already in their possession, as evidence because the records had been obtained through illegal means (though they refused to specify what those means were).

Here's another attack--join the class action lawsuits against the telcomm providers who cooperated. I think they face a $1000 fine per customer for distrubuting private info without permission. They wanted to "help" the government? Great. Let's brankrupt them.

BTW, Qwest refused to cooperate with the NSA. Guess what? The CEO is now under investigation for insider trading. Is it just a coincidence...?
