SO BUSH WAVES ANOTHER 9/11 AT THE AMERICAN PUBLIC
To justify his illegal spying, Bush tries to red herring the citizens with another 9/11 scenario, waving an alleged plot in 2002 to hit a tall building in California, proving the success of his anti-terror tactics.
He just doesn't get it, or he thinks the same old tired tactics will work forever. No one has said the government shouldn't fight terror. They SHOULD do all they can to protect the nation --do BETTER than they did pre-9/11 when every dog in the country KNEW we were going to get hit, except-guess who? Duh!
It isn't fighting terror the country objects to, genius. It is the illegal, tyrannical, arrogant, I'm important-and-I-can-do-what-I-want-to way you do what you could just as easily do LEGALLY!!
Since he's stirred up such a rat's nest and the only excuse he can think of is cry fight terror, I wonder what his next step will be. Another attack on the US, like the Calvary coming to rescue the beleagured settlers? Sometimes I can almost believe the conspiracy theorists. 9/11 was a horrible tragedy for the nation, but it sure came in handy for him to get support and an excuse to attack Iraq. Even though that decision was made BEFORE 9/11, but he needed the support of the people. 9/11 conveniently gave it to him, AND an excuse to grab power, and more than originally agreed on, by slipping the extra provisions in the bill right before it came to a vote. So he stole the extra powers just like he stole the election.
Now if some nasty little ole terrorist would just come blow up something, it would get the critics off his back and have the citizens wailing, "Save Us! Protect us from terrorists!!" and he could say, "Oh, I'd be happy to, but the only way I can do it is to do it illegally, violate your rights and shred the Constitution and finish my aim to establish a police state."
The HPD and the PD of a Texas town near Houston have allegedly been doing nuke disaster drills. Both are good targets. Houston is the 4th largest port in America (with New Orleans crippled, does that bump us up to 3rd place?), and all the petrochemical plants stretching for miles down between the ship channel and #225 to blow like a string of firecrackers (some containing horrific deadly chemicals) would be a great target. Some of our neighboring smaller towns have some delightfully nasty sites too. A tall building in California? Why are WE having nuke disaster drills?

We're a couple of hours earlier here so I hadn't had time to do much except watch the CNN clips.
They've known about this since 2002, it's been published before although not in detail. They forgot to tell the Mayor of Los Angeles.
I just can't believe we engineered a 9/11 conspiracy. If I let myself believe it I think I'd just give up.
I do think the timing of this latest bit of "news" is convenient. He wants the Patriot Act and more.
