MY GOD! WHAT'S HAPPENED TO MY NATION?
WE HAVE BECOME A NATION WHERE THE CONSTITUTION IS NO MORE THAN AN "ARCHAIC" PIECE OF PAPER, THE BILL OF RIGHTS SHREDDED, THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS ARE REFUTED, UNPRECEDENTED PRESIDENTAL POWERS, AN IMPERIALISTIC PRESIDENCY, A WAR MONGERING NATION, OUR POOR AND MOST VULNERABLE CITIZENS CAST ASIDE, THE GULF BETWEEN RICH AND POOR EVER WIDENING, AND THE CITIZENS' BURDENS GROW HEAVIER UNDER THE STRENGTHENING HEEL ON A BUDDING POLICE STATE.

Most of the nation feels badly, Progressive. There has been an ongoing erosion of our civil rights for decades, little by little, scarcely noticible. Until now, the current administration has dropped the gradual approach and is chopping with a broadaxe, and telling us it's for our protection, our freedom.
I grow exceedingly weary at times, quite disheartened and despondent, rather overwhelmed and feel like tossing in the towel. But the stakes are too high. I look at the little faces of my great grandchildren, get exasperated with their parents and grandparents whom I love dearly but they are either too blind to see or too unconcerned, and I feel compelled to keep on keeping on. Someone has to fight for their future and for the future of all the little children like them. Perhaps what I do is useless in the long run but by God I have to try.
