GWS and DU - Vets

Julian, I understand. Son-in-law Vietnam War vet exposed to Agent Orange developed numerous benign tumors all over his body; one VA doc said they could become cancerous, another said they could not. Both agreed the tumors were harmless unless they grew in heart, brain, or lungs. Very comforting. He got so fed up with the AO runaround from the government he had served that he walked away from the whole mess, refused to join in the class action suit against the manufacturers of AO.Colon cancer in 40s deemed a little unusual at that age but not unheard of. Skin disorder. But thankful nothing as serious as some of his comrades suffered.Pays ungodly premiums for private insurance and asks nothing from government.

I'm sure you've researched GWS. Confusing symptoms difficult to diagnose due to the "cocktail" of experimental, untested "immunizations" given the military and contractors, as the government/military used them as guinea pigs to test anti-HIV, malaria, herpes, anthrax, and other
immos. Add to that the radiation exposure from DU and they really had confusion until modern medical technology made tests more accurate and comprehensive.Add to that possible bacteria being tested for biological warfare and the confusion grew.

GWS affected the military deployed to Iraq by Daddy Bush but ALSO those who were NOT deployed, but remained states side or in Europe. Radiation or heavy metal poisoning affected only those deployed to Iraq.
No reports of GWS in Iraqis, Kuwaitis or other Arab nationals, but plenty of reports of them suffering from DU exposire. So it seems that the cocktail of unproven, untested (except on animals) "immunizations" was quite probably the guilty culprit for most of the GWS , plus DU for the Iraq War vets,

OOOH! Our government would NEVER use our own people as guinea pigs? How about the Tuskegee Syphillis experiments? True, the government didn't infect the 412 African American men involved, but they did withhold treatment in order to study long term effects of the disease. A movie was made of this.

Google MKNAOMI. Google MKULTRA. You might get a lot of runaround, but persevere. Info is out there...and denials. Some are hysterically rabid conspiracy theorists, and some are reasonable-sounding examiners of clues and facts. There is a quantity of articles re:US developement of biological weapons and ofcourse, immunization for US and Allied troops against such bio-weapons. One such accusatory site is www.all-natural.com/horo-3.html Read opening statement, scroll down past the book advert, more text.

If even 1/100th of the garbage I've read on this subject is true, it is horrifying. It would appear that all the while the US adopted a high moral stance, we were doing the same thing we accused our "enemies" of doing. As one hawk observed, "do unto them before they can do unto us."
And Daddy Bush's admin. and Mil. would have an interest in testing immunizations against bio weapons in Iraq, since the US companies and others sold Saddam a quantity when the Iraq/Iran 8 year war was going on. Our mil. complex had a ready made mass group of test guinea pigs on hand - our troops- to determine the effectiveness of the numerous untried and unapproved vaccines.

So it killed a number of them and made most of the others sick? Humm, Too bad, back to the drawing board. Oh, but deny it, and tell them it's all in their head or merely natural ailments that occur with anybody. And those 700,000 medical records that mysteriously disappeared when those nosy investigative journalists started prowling around and asking pointed questions, we dunno wha' happened.

The dates on these reports show how long the veterans were denied an admission that they truly suffered. The Gulf War was in 1991>. Now in 2006 they are finally told about DU (see earlier post from globalresearch article). How much and how long will our present troops suffer?

When was the Vietnam War? Here is an article dated Oct. 31, 1998 =
"This is a medical crime, basically. Air Force withheld data, altered Agent Orange study, paper says" http://www.gulfwarvets.com/crime.htm I know at least one of our blogger friends served in Vietnam as well as in Korea. I'm sure he can agree that our government lies about what happens to our troops.

JulianB, I am so sorry about Mr. Pink and that he has been so ill served by the government that he served well. It is no consolation, but he is in good company.

Julian, I'm sorry as well. Maybe I didn't go far enough back in your posts but I didn't know.

I just went back through the comments, Julian. They don't come in on my email like granny's do so occasionally one gets overlooked by me.

Hey, thanks for that post, WA. I have done a little research on GWS but nothing on this scale. I get frustrated because John (Pink) won't listen about it. He doesn't think anything can be done, so why become any more angry? He doesn't want to be any more bitter than he is.

He says the military was always trying to give them mystery pills for this and that. He really hates them now. He signed up his senior year in high school because he thought it would be a good way to get funds for college and get training for his career. Now, he's just screwed. I think he has resigned himself to the fact that he made a poor choice. But there aren't always a lot of options open to people, you know?

I know a Vietnam vet who is in constant pain, wears a pain patch every day. He finally--THIS YEAR--got the VA to admit his condition is the result of agent orange exposure. (Incidentally, this man is raising his grandchildren, too.) The VA has tried to take him off the pain patch (expensive) and even put him on morphine! They did have to give the patch back to him, of course. This poor man has been through hell, all for serving his country.

Anyway, thanks for your concern. And thanks for drawing attention to these very real atrocities committed by our own country.

Oh, and my stepfather, a vet of Korea, has diabetic neuropathy. He gets very little assistance from the VA. Each month, he runs up his credit card bill a little higher buying his medications.
