Maybe Not Loony Tunes, Just Desperate.

Worried American posted the other day about Congress and it's fixation on the mote while ignoring the beam.

Following through on her thoughts, here's another article from Tom Paine.

The focus on silliness is a desperate attempt to mobilize the extremists once again. Hey, it worked before didn't it? If hate and divisiveness works, then why not trot them out. Anything to stop the massive epidemic of flag burning. How many flags have you seen burned lately?

The only flag burning I have noted in many decades are in news photos of foreign demonstrators in their own lands protesting U.S. policies, wars, or atrocities. I really don't believe those folks would pay much heed to any U.S. laws banning such activities.

It has been quite a while since I noted any flag burnings within the U.S. If it happened, I missed the photo op. Perhaps he could engage some nefarious individuals to burn a flag or two for the newsmen's benefit and attempt to promote a little national hysteria.

Right on the money, Granny. What drives me nuts though is that "our side" does the same stuff.
