RE: GRANNY'S POSTS BELOW
I had a good rant built up to post but Granny inadvertantly side tracked me. If you don't read any other post today, do read Granny's as listed below and read the links !!
1). "More info about online searches and google refusal"
Our fearless leaders are once again trying to protect us and our children. A noble cause, right? To make sure that safeguards work preventing our children from accessing porn!! The potential for abuse of these records is astronomical, and don't tell me the government won't have ways to get personal information. So you search out a "watch list" site (as in Granny's "know thine enemy" googling --and mine), does that earn you a visit from the FBI, SS, or DHS, or all three, like the kid that checked out Mao's "Little Red Book?" Does that make you a terrorist or sympathizer? Less than that got people labeled during the McCarthy witch hunts. Incidentally, that's Joseph McCarthy, not Eugene. (All of you readers who remember the McCarthy days, speak out and comment, please!)
2). "Uncle Sam wants you at Guantanamo"
Same song, second verse as above. If any activity is suspect, such as online research, dissident blogging, letters to the editors of local newspapers, overseas calls and letters, wiring money overseas, etc. we are subject to investigation and search of our homes. A number of us have books or publications that they would view as "guilty" of something. I have Islamic art and related books, books on Islam and the Arab mind, several copies of the Holy Koran and an English/Arabic dictionary, records and tapes of Arab music and chants.It would probably be irrelevant to them that I also have books, music, etc.. on various other cultures and religions. The former would make me guilty in some way.
3). "I'm interested in what everyone thinks about this"
"Molly Ivine- 'I will not support Hilary Clinton for President' "
I can only say that I agree with Ms. Ivin 100%. Thank you, Granny for posting this.
Please check out these posts and links that Granny has provided. More and more of our rights and liberties are being torn from us every day, often secretly, and soon we will be under the administration's heel as surely as were the Germans, Russians, Cambodians, and other peoples under ruthless and dominating rulers.
