Freedom of the Press?

By now, I'm sure most of us have heard about the arrest of Amy Goodman (journalist) and her two colleagues.

If not, here it is in her own words.

Several of the reports I've read describe St. Paul as an armed camp. St. Paul friend (you know who you are), if you're still around and reading, I'd love a first hand report.

The government will tolerate ONLY members of the "pet poodle" mainstream media. Most mainstream media in the world is owned by certain big businesses; employees do their bidding and follow the party line. Journalists in the Iraq war who were "embedded" were allowed to report only on approved matters. Journalists who strayed from the official line sometimes were "accidentally" killed as were independents.

Freedom of the (independent) press as well as freedom of speech, right to peaceful assembly, etc. are rights of which Americans are rapidly becoming robbed. Bush has discarded the Constitution as a g-d piece of paper, and is destroying all that it stands for.

Time will come that either the internet will become closely regulated (preventing certain subjects from being printed/accessed) OR Bloggers and Writers will be arrested and prosecuted for treasonous actions. Remember ="if you're not with us, you are with the terrorists".

Do NOT expect a new president to repeal all of Bush's destructive laws and rules.

my thought is- we can't take these people on head on. we have to keep the truth alive for the resistance movement. what we see now should have been reversed decades ago and wasn't. it is too far in motion for us to stop the momentum but we can pass on our truth and our knowledge to fight.

Correct, Betmo! The American people must nurture the resistance - and someday take back our nation. I do not like this cliche, but --POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
