Cell Phone Warning from the College

Messages fly about the colleges like internet wildfire. It is always best to check any questionable subject with Snopes. I've been suckered in the past. I read in a newsie that this was being considered but do not know if it has actually come to pass.

Daughter Jo said she had already received some telemarketing calls - see blue text below.

FYI................................................

REMINDER...About Jan. 1, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale Calls…YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS, To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a Minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

  1. We've put ourselves on that list a long time ago, still not sure whether that works..but..can't hurt to try, don't mean to undermine your effort!
