BILLIONS WASTED IN IRAQ SAYS US AUDIT

********
Could this be one of several reasons the infrastructure of Iraq is still destroyed?
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2162249,00.html

In the chaos of Iraq, one project is on target: a giant US embassy

The question enrages a city: how is it the Americans cannot keep the electricity running in Baghdad, yet still build the biggest embassy on Earth?
******
Because the US plans a permanent ruling presence there but knows they will need massive defenses against a hostile populace, so all comforts are provided in order than embassy staff will not have to interact very often or very much with the citizens. A small city within a city with all the luxuries of "home".

Granny, the whole Green Zone concept is a total disgrace!
they should call it clubmed baghdad. It's like in Seoul Korea! the US set up a base downtown during the korea war AND NEVER LEFT! like with the greenzone, the property annexed by the US military in korea is PRIME DOWNTOWN realestate.
if i were an iraqi, i'd resent the american presence by now to be sure....
    shame on us.
p.s. granny, i took off my word verification thing.

Thank you, Jay. I know Granny will thank you too. I agree with her assessment: those things are a pain in the patootie.

Occasionally I remove ours, but we get some loony tunes troll, so I put it back on.

It is getting harder and harder for me to distinuish the separate letters in some of the strings.
