BBC E-mail: Aborigine singer 'left for dead'

** Message **
CALLOUSNESS OR RACISM?? COULD YOU TREAT A FELLOW HUMAN BEING THIS WAY?

** Aborigine singer 'left for dead' **
A renowned indigenous Australian singer says she was ignored for five hours after collapsing at a busy bus stop. Man beside her merely moved his briefcase; girls ignored her as did passersby .

  1. Very sad. Though if that was an urban area in the U.S., people would probably just have treated her as a homeless person and ignored her, race not really being much of an issue. Not too surprising, I guess.

  2. Agreed. I guess, though, people are so desensitized. I mean, when was the last time you stopped to double check on a homeless person on the street? If you have, you're pretty unique. :(
