I'm A Great Grandmother Again.

To heck with politics for a day or two. I have a new great grandson and there is joy in the family!!
Introducing Jaden Elliott B______.

So far there is no evidence of the Neural Tube Defect the doctors thought he had (per ultrasound in utero). Tests will be run but at present he appears normal and perfectly healthy even though he was a couple of weeks early.

Grand daughter Renee is recuperating from the emergency C-Section and an extremely toxic condition (pre-eclampsia). Her blood pressure is coming down, approaching normal levels and her kidneys are beginning to function. Here she looks like death warmed over but she is alive and improving. Normally, she is a beautiful young lady.

It was touch and go for awhile. Her obstetrician was out of town and the small town hospital has no neonatal pediatricians nor neonatal unit. It was damaged in the hurricane and barely functioning. A secondary doctor was in charge of her care and I was not happy with his decisions. All is well that ends well, however, and it appears that mother and child are all right.

We are happy.
