Daniel; I am sure that his owners keep him well protected. Even normal peacocks are usually kept safe.Surely a rarity like him would be cherished. If he was human, he'd probably be a bit conceited(?).
Goddess; Possibly nature gave the females duller coloration so they would not be so visible to predators. Probably the males are so beautifully adorned so they can attract mates.
One male of any species can impregnate many females, but only a female can propagate the species. It is more important (nature-wise) to protect the females.
