It is said that "all politics are local." Your picture is painfully accurate I'm afraid. Until something or somebody gores "their" ox, people tend to say "well, that won't happen here." And look where we are. But, I believe better to chase the horse all over the pasture than leave him out forever.
Too many Americans hold this view of the Nation, its policies, the Wars, and the slaughter of innocent civilians and our military.
But LIEberman's trouncing means that at least a few of us are paying attention...
