The proposal may reach the House floor as early as next week.

Apparently rushing to lock in a long-sought goal before the fall elections, GOP congressional leaders may bring to a vote within weeks a proposal that could literally wipe out any federal program that protects public health or the environment - or for that matter civil rights, poverty programs, auto safety, education, affordable housing, Head Start, workplace safety or any other activity targeted by anti-regulatory forces.

And those are the legacies of some Democrat presidents correct? This should be something the Democrats ought to fight over..well, would they?? I am not too sure..

Reminds me a great deal of the Bush Sr. administration's "Council on Cpmpetitivness". An illegal commission headed by Dan Quayle, this executive body was used to determine what laws would, and would not, be enforced. Better than a statement at signing.
